CW: Nudity, Groping

This work is heavily inspired by feminist performance artists. A turning point from my earlier work, the performance isn't weird for the sake of shock, but rooted in memory. The memories of bleeding, staining, and feeling shame. The memories of high school boys groping and playing with marinara packets in obscenely suggestive ways. The memories of a traumatic female puberty, the horror and shame that comes with having this body. This work is the most direct of my undergrad work, though still anchored in the poetic.

This work also marks the evolution from "performance art recorded on video" to "video art." Or, it's a start, at least. The performance is non-linear, with actions repeated and reversed.
